A heart-opening ritual of reflection, connection, and community for queer, questioning, and gender-diverse folks, combining the healing power of cacao with journaling.
Join us at The Bath House for a special Pride Month edition of this event—intended for anyone who identifies as queer, questioning, trans, nonbinary, gender-diverse, or elsewhere on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. Come explore your inner world through guided journaling prompts, with the option to make art and/or use divination tools (such as oracle and tarot decks).
We’ll open with a shared cacao ritual (non-traditional but deeply intentional), followed by a brief story of cacao as a sacred—and queer—tree spirit. Then we’ll explore what’s ready to be witnessed, held, and released, with guidance for integrating the experience after.
Let’s gather, sip, write, and witness one another.
- No experience with journaling, ritual, or cacao needed.
- No one turned away for lack of funds—contact the organizer for accessibility.
- Cacao is best consumed on an empty stomach; fasting for 2–4 hours recommended.
- If you are pregnant, taking antidepressants (particularly SSRIs), or have a heart condition, please consult your health practitioner before consuming cacao.
Facilitated by Riordan Regan (they/them), an artist, seeker, ceremonialist, queer/trans person, and apprentice of the healing arts. Also a PhD student at the Transart Institute for Creative Research, they explore the ways people connect, transcend, and heal through community, ceremony, and consciousness. They have hosted workshops and educational events involving sacred and historical food and drink across Berlin, the UK, and the US.
