Event description

Description

The University community is invited to a special screening of the documentary, Tell Them We Are Rising: The Story of Black Colleges and Universities. Directed by award-winning documentary filmmaker, Stanley Nelson, the film examines the impact HBCUs have had on American history, culture and national identity.

Following the showing of the film, there will be a student-led panel discussion moderated by Professor Natalie Bullock-Brown.

Come enjoy light refreshments and prepare to learn about the history of HBCUs, like dear old SAU, which is mentioned in the film.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about this history of HBCUs!
