About Campus District, Inc.

Campus District, Inc. cultivates community stakeholder’s voices to elevate the district into a dynamic downtown Cleveland neighborhood where private sector investments are matched by public infrastructure improvements, schools are providing high quality education, residents and visitors are enjoying ample amenities, and businesses and residents are attracted and retained.

Campus District, Inc. -- founded in 1983 as the St. Vincent Quadrangle -- has been driving growth and vibrancy in the district for three decades through the neighborhood’s three anchor institutions: Cleveland State University, Tri-C Metro, and St. Vincent Charity Medical Center. Over the past 10 years, improvements have accelerated through unprecedented revitalization in downtown Cleveland, fueled by more than $500 million in new development projects launched by institutions and private developers in the Campus District.

A central theme of Campus District, Inc.’s current momentum has been our commitment to inclusion, engagement, and collaboration with partners both within and outside of the District. Current projects of the Campus District include:

Community Building and Advocacy

Campus District, Inc. works to build community among the diverse stakeholders of the district -- artists, community residents, students, businesses, institutions, and social service agencies. We work together to assess the district’s needs , and envision and advocate for creative solutions for issues like safety, bike-ability and walkability, education, community identity and branding, transit and transportation, and other services.

Planning

Campus District, Inc. works collaboratively with community stakeholders and outside partners on planning for the district’s needs on everything from Innerbelt exit design to a green cap for the East 22nd Street bridge, development of lakefront connections and infrastructure for bicyclists and pedestrians throughout the district.

Real Estate and Infrastructure

Campus District, Inc. helps facilitate redevelopment of historic buildings within the district, such as the Juvenile Court Building, Payne Avenue Police Station, and Mather Hall, and the development of new infrastructure improvements and bike and pedestrian amenities.
