Event description

What is it?

Camp Quirky is the only handmade campervan festival in the UK, run by Quirky Campers www.quirkycampers.co.uk. It's a friendly and intimate event for anyone who loves handmade campervans and the lifestyle that comes with them.

The main elements of the event will be:

  • Around 30 of the Quirky Campers fleet will be on site - they will all open their doors on Saturday for you to have a nose and ask questions

  • Workshops and talks on everything from campervan carpentry to long-term van living

  • A 'conversion surgery' for you to ask more experienced converters for advice on your conversion challenges

  • Vanlife vloggers and bloggers including The Indie Projects, The Rolling Home, Beyond the Van, Houseless not Homeless and Florence and the Morgans

  • Stalls full of useful and/or beautiful stuff for your handmade campervan conversion from storage pouches to woodburning stoves

  • A Q&A with the Quirky Campers Directors

  • Food stalls and 2 bars - including a VW cocktail bar

  • Live music and entertainment on Friday and Saturday evening

  • Activities for kids including bushcraft, felting, leaf printing and puppet making

A weekend ticket cost covers all of this and camping, whether in a tent or a campervan.

Can I bring my dog?

Only if you have a dog ticket. These sold out early on. We're very sorry if you missed out, but unfortunately you will have to leave your dog at home.

In order for it to remain a pleasant environment for everyone, dog owners must abide by the following rules:

  1. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times when on site (adjacent to the festival site is a country park perfect for dog walking).

  2. Dogs must be well behaved and under control at all times.

  3. Please pick up all dog poo and put in appropriate bins.

Failure to abide by these may lead to you being asked to leave the festival.

Can I bring my children?

Yes! This is a very child-friendly event. Children up to 5 go free, for 5-16 year olds please purchase a child ticket.

  • We will have loads of kids’ activities going on during the weekend – please come and get involved.

  • Please note that you are responsible for your children at all times including when they are in the kids area.

  • The site is next to an active (but infrequently used) small airstrip – we will have signs up if aircraft are due to land or take off and it is separated by a fence, but do please keep an eye on your children and ensure they don’t climb over the fence.

How is the ticket delivered?

You will be sent an e-ticket - when you arrive please have it to hand, printed or on screen.

Can I fly a drone?

We are right next to a landing strip so drone flight will be limited depending on flight times. If you would like to fly a drone, please report to event control who can advise you on suitable times.

Is accommodation available on site?

We still have a handful of Quirky Campers campervans available for hire for the weekend. If you are interested, please send an email to bookings@quirkycampers.co.uk

Where exactly is it?

The exact location will be sent to all ticket holders using the email address you provide when purchasing your ticket.

Disabled parking will be provided close to the main arena and next to the toilets – please advise gate staff and they will direct you.

An accessible toilet will be available, this will be accessed using a combination padlock – the code will be provided by gate staff.

Please use bins provided, there will be 6 points across the site separated into general and cans/plastic.

No glass allowed on site. It is not a problem to have it in your van but please take it home with you.

If I'm coming for the day, can I bring my campervan?

Yes, but you will need to park it in the car park, you won't be able to bring it into the main camping area.

I don't own a campervan, can I stay in a tent?

Yes, no problem at all - the camping area will be mixed campervans and tents.
