Camp Parliament for Girls is a leadership program that introduces girls ages 10 to 15 to the parliamentary system of government. Camp will be a lesson on the structure of parliamentarian governments including eligibility for service, political parties and parliamentary elections. This will be followed by a brief study of the nations around the world that have a parliament in place. Camp will culminate with campers forming a parliament to propose then debate and vote on a law. Girl Scouts participating in Camp Parliament for Girls may receive a Citizen Legacy or 2016 Girls Scouts Global Action badge. All participants will earn a Certificate of Completion for participation.

The Girls in Politics Initiative (“GIP”) is an international civic education program created and administered by the Political Institute for Women. Our GIP programs introduce girls ages 8 to 17 to politics, policy, the work of the United States Congress, parliamentary governments and the work of the United Nations. We host GIP programs in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom. Educational, social and political organizations may also book a private and/or customized GIP program.
