Camp Happiness Match Challenge
Tue, Feb 28, 2017, 2:00 PM – Fri, Mar 31, 2017, 1:30 PM EST
The Logsdon Family Foundation has challenged us to a $10,000 Match Challenge. They will donate $10,000 to Camp Happiness if we can raise $10,000! We are excited about meeting this challenge!!!
March is DD Awareness Month in Ohio. This year’s theme is “Side by Side”. Let’s celebrate DD Awareness together and side by side by rising to this challenge. All donations will be used to send kids with disabilities to Camp Happiness, a six week day camp from June 19 to July 28.
We can’t think of a better way to raise awareness for persons with developmental disabilities! And we can’t think of a better outcome - children attending summer camp.
Our families struggle to send their kids to camp each year. Yet camp is so important for children with disabilities socially!
One of our parents has said that, before finding Camp Happiness, his son was rejected by every camp he had contacted. On the first day, within minutes of meeting the staff, he said Camp Happiness felt like a family. They love that their child comes home dirty and happy like he would at any other camp!
Are you up for the Match Challenge? Any amount will help and is appreciated by the many families who can’t afford camp!
- A $10 donation will pay for a child’s field trip to the History Museum
- $50 will pay for one site to go swimming for one day
- $700 will pay for one camper to go to one week of camp
- $4,200 will pay for one child to go to camp for all six weeks
- Can you imagine what $20,000 will do?
You can donate online by clicking "Tickets" above, right. Or you can send a check made payable to “Disability Services” to Disability Services, 7911 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44102.
