Glendale Heights, United States
This summer’s focus will be “going green”. Students will connect with their home, the Earth, by engaging in activities that foster a love for nature. Students will learn how to take care of the environment while seeing how this concept is such a vital component of Islam and is in accordance with our Sunnah. Collaboration across grade levels will be encouraged and implemented. Through structured lesson plans surrounding the theme of recycling and taking a closer look at an old neighbor, birds, students will culminate the unit of study by writing and performing their own skits. From making bird feeders to designing bags that prevent waste, arts and crafts is embedded in our camp. Insha’Allah, participants will become equipped with a strong sense of identity, an increased level of confidence, and an appreciation of Quranic knowledge. Students will come to realize that practical Islam can be fun and even more worthwhile than other popular or commercial ways of passing time. 9:30 am Islamic Songs, Discussion and Stations** 11:00 am Snack Break 11:15 am Writing/Performance 12:30 pm Pick-up ** Stations are a means to dividing the campers into three sections or focus areas. When & Where
Camp Busy Bees
Camp Busy Bees is a camp that exposes Muslim youth from all areas of Chicago to Quran, hadith, and dua' memorization. The purpose of this camp is to give Muslim youth the opportunity to maximize their inherent Islamic and academic capabilities through educational activities that bridge secular education with discussion of Allah (swt). We hope to provide Muslim youth an outlet in which they can create life-long bonds, memorize Quran, and find a practical application of Islam in their everday life.
