Film and video educator/producer Matt Rossini (MFA in Film Production, UW-Milwaukee) will lead a seminar covering the essential elements of how a camera works, and the role each component plays in capturing professional quality content.
These classes are open to and intended for anyone with an interest in film, video or photography. No experience or camera necessary!
1) Gain a thorough understanding of how a camera works.
2) Understand how to take control of manual settings, leading one to be a more confident and deliberate shooter.
CONTENT OVERVIEW: This event is divided into two segments: Seminar (Dec 6) & Workshop (Dec 13).
Camera Fundamentals Seminar | Dec 6, 6:30pm-8:00pm.
Learn basic mechanisms for time-based cameras. Concepts are applicable to any kind of camera, be it analogue film, digital cine camera, or DSLR.
Discussion topics include exposure, aperture, f-stops, aspect ratio, frame rate, colour temperature, lenses, and more.
Camera Fundamentals Workshop | Dec 13, 6:30pm-8:30pm.
In the follow-up workshop component we will explore seminar topics together with cameras to practice shooting under different scenarios.
Bring Your Own Camera (BYOC) and the instrcutor will look over it with you.
Explore camera setup, tripod, and lighting.
NOTE: The workshop component has limited enrollment, and must be purchased together with the seminar.
