Join us as we continue celebrating our fifth season together with our winter session, starting on Wednesday January 11, 2023.

Who we are: Gamelan Anak Tika (Cambridge Youth Gamelan) aims to inspire, engage with, and educate youth about traditional Balinese gamelan music and dance. Our group is open to students in Grades 2 - 12. No prior musical experience necessary. Beginners are always welcome and encouraged to join.

Try out a class risk free!

If you register late, we will credit you the classes you missed so you don't pay full price!

Email us at for more information on how to set up your visit!

Where and when do we meet: We rehearse weekly on Wednesdays from 5:30pm - 7pm (new time!) in the Endicott World Music Room in MIT Building N-52, two doors down from the MIT Museum entrance at 265 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, MA.

Winter Session 2022 Information (please read to the end): The winter session will start on January 11 and end on March 29, 2023. Due to the fact that this group performs a minimum of two times per year, we kindly request that members join with the intent to perform as it can impact the growth of the ensemble, overall, to be missing members during a scheduled performance.

January: 11, 18, 25

February: 1, 8, 15 (NO REHEARSAL ON FEBRUARY 22)

March: 1, 8, 22, 29 (NO REHEARSAL ON MARCH 15)

Financial Aid: We offer financial aid to any families in need to help make our program affordable and accessible to all. If you would like to find out more information about how to apply for financial aid for this session, email us directly at and we will get in touch.

Refunds: No refunds will be provided for the fall session after February 1, 2023.

Gamelan Anak Tika (Cambridge Youth Gamelan) is grateful to the continued support by MIT Music Theater & Arts, anonymous donors, and members of the Cambridge community who continue to support our mission. What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

There is metered parking on Massachusetts Avenue, Front Street, Windsor Street, State Street, and Main Street. All metered parking is 2 hour parking until 8pm unless otherwise indicated and can be paid via the Passport Parking app or coins. Our advice is to start with coins and switch to the app as the app will only allow you to park for 2 hours within a single zone, at which point you will be forced to move your car to avoid a ticket.

You can take the Red Line to Central or Kendall Square and walk down to the MIT Museum. You can also take the following busses which will bring you to within a couple of blocks of the museum: 1, 64, 70, 70A, and CT1.

Please be advised that parking can be in short supply and that the MBTA system can sometimes run late - plan ahead and give yourself extra time to get to rehearsal on time so we can all start together at 5:30pm!
