The Cambridge Youth Gamelan (Gamelan Anak Tika) aims to inspire, engage with, and educate youth about traditional gamelan music and dance of Bali, Indonesia.
We are pleased to offer the second of three sessions in Balinese music and dance this year open to students in Grades 3 - 9. No prior musical experience necessary. Beginners strongly encouraged!
All classes will meet at the MIT World Music Room (located next to the MIT Museum) every Wednesday from 5:30pm - 7:00pm.
Spring Session Dates (March 1 - May 3, 2017)
March: 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
April: 5, 12, 26
*No rehearsal April 19 due to public school break
Saturday April 15, 5:30-7pm, Cambridge Science Festival workshop at the MIT Museum (lobby)
Sunday May 7, 4pm, with Gamelan Galak Tika at Kresge Auditorium in Cambridge, MA
Possible performance at the Cambridge Science Festival in April 2017, Date/Time TBC
Registration for the spring session is $90.00 ($10.00 per class). There are financial aid scholarships available for families. Please email email@example.com for more information.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There is metered parking on Massachusetts Avenue, Front Street, Windsor Street, State Street, and Main Street. Most of this parking is 2 hour parking until 8pm unless otherwise indicated. Additionally, you can take the Red Line to Central or Kendall Square and walk down to the MIT Museum. You can also take the following busses which will bring you to within a couple of blocks of the museum: 1, 64, 70, 70A, and CT1.
