We will have lunch at Kbal Spean, relax in the woods and enjoy the serene jungle. On our way back to the city, we will stop by the Land Mine Museum. We will have the rest of the evening to shop for souvenirs and enjoy the streets of Cambodia before we all meet for dinner.

Day 3: Angkor Wat Sunrise and Temple Complex Tour

The crown jewel of Cambodia, Angkor Wat temple was built in 12th century and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The 162 hector complex is the reminder of one of the most prominent Asian civilisation “The Khmer Empire”.

Over a million people visit Angkor Wat temple to bask in the beauty of the mesmerising Sunrise every year. We will leave the hotel at 4 AM to get to the temple complex in time to enjoy the breathtaking view.

After the sunrise we will set out to see the temples from inside. You can touch the carvings, stare in awe at the never-ending corridors, climb up to the tower and enjoy the view. Do you remember the movie Tomb Raider? We will next visit the Ta Phrom temple, the one that Lara Croft travelled to in her adventure.

After the lunch and strolling through the history we bid adieu to Angkor Wat and hop on a taxi to our next destination Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia.

Day 4: The City of Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh was once known as the “Pearl of Asia” and considered one of the loveliest French-built cities in 1920s. It got it’s name from the famous Buddha temple Wat Phnom.

We will visit the Royal Palace, that has been the residence of the king since the 1890s. Royal palace swanks a series of pavilions, gardens, royal temples, stupas and the famous silver pagoda that houses a life size crystal Buddha statue with over 9800 diamonds.

Following Royal Palace we will visit the Independence Monument and Buddhist temple gardens the Wat Phnom. Wat Phnom stands 27m tall with art depicting the many lives of Buddha.

We will then pay a visit to the Tuol Sleng Concentration Museum, a reminder of Cambodia’s dark history under the rule of dictator Pol Pot between 1975 and 1979.

It is then time to wind down and go shopping in the flea market. The central market of Phnom Penh is famous for street shopping. Remember whatever you wish to buy, the key is to bargain hard. This is how awesome the central market looks like:

After dinner we will hit the Phnom Penh night clubs. Once again, the beer is as cheap as 50 cents. Or if you are feeling lucky, we can hit the casino to play a hand of Blackjack.

Day 5: Sihanoukville Beach Town Jungle Party

Before we say good bye to the beautiful Phnom Penh, we will make one last stop - Choeung Ek killing fields. Between 1975 and 1979 Cambodia was ruled by Khmer Rouge, under the leadership of Pol Pot. Khmer Rouge killed over 2 million people in Cambodia during the civil war. Choeung Ek is one of many killing fields used as a burial grounds for the massacred population.

We will set out for a taxi ride to the beach-city Sihanoukville after lunch.

It takes 5 hours to reach Sihanoukville. Reach hotel, freshen up and let’s head for the Jungle party of Sihanoukville. The party begins at a local Bar, around 10PM the entire bar crowd moves to the nearby Jungle for a Neon-lit, burning man style party.
