Event description

Description

Come enjoy a night of music written by local singer-songwriter Sam C. Jones as he takes you through the world of rock n’ roll, musical theatre and finding love in unexpected places. Featuring the voices of some of Sacramento’s favorite musicians, CALL YOUR FRIENDS will leave you dancing, laughing, and calling up your loved ones for one more round at the bar! This evening of original music will be hosted in Sacramento on Thursday, November 14th at 7pm at The Brickhouse Art Gallery in partnership with Intrepid Theatre Company and in Davis on Friday, November 15th at 7pm at the Sudwerk Brewery Taproom in partnership with Bike City Theatre Group.

About Sam C. Jones: Sam C. Jones has been chasing his dream of being a rockstar since he was a kid, and has no plans of stopping.

After a few years of hard work acting in theatre around the country - The Sacramento Theatre Company, Davis Shakespeare Festival, Hippodrome State Theatre, Phoenix Theatre Indianapolis - Sam is temporarily hanging up his acting hat to pursue his first love: songwriting. Focused on storytelling and heartbreaking melodies, Sam's music has been described as "moonshine rock", inspired by folk, blues, country and even a little of his musical theatre roots. Sam’s debut album Call Your Friends, available on all streaming platforms later this year, is the culmination of song written about his childhood, lost love, his struggles with social anxiety, and slaying mighty dragons. For anyone who loves Frank Turner, The Mountain Goats or even Elvis Presley, Sam is the newest Sacramento artist you definitely don’t want to miss.

About the concert: CALL YOUR FRIENDS - the concert - will showcase 15 of Sam’s original songs sung by him and other local favorites (Hannah Jane Kile, David Taylor, and Sidney Rae Gonzales). Backed by the incredible Casey Groat (Fashionista Boyfriend) on drums and Zack Davis on bass, CALL YOUR FRIENDS will leave you dancing, laughing, and calling up your loved ones for one more round at the bar.
