Description

Hello speakers

This is a special call for speakers for a week of workshops in Silicon Valley from 10/23-10/27/17. The idea came to me during my recent talks at Small Business Week and my Small Business Empowerment Conference. If you’ve attended or spoken at Small Business Week in SF you know that it’s one of the best kept secrets for speakers and one of the most attended events of the year. Essentially every year around the second week of May, the SBA along with their corporate partners organize a week of workshops to educate small business owners on ways to increase revenue and grow their businesses. This year (as with the last 8 years) I’ve been asked to teach a 90 minute talk during SBW. As of today Small Business Week instructors were able to educate over 1500 small business owners from around the globe. My class had an attendance of 61 and I’m currently either meeting or doing business with more than ½.

My idea

I’ve wanted to produce my own week of workshops similar to SBW for a few years but the timing never felt right-until now. The issue was to make this different from not only SBW but also the 14 other conferences I host per year. And then it hit me. What if I produce a week of workshops but instead of inviting only small business owners, but corporate leaders as well? After all, small business owners, coaches and speakers all want connections to corporate leaders but many of us feel frustrated because we don’t always have access to those connections. This conference will bring both worlds together for a week of workshops and networking. Here’s what we’re looking for…

Cost is $150 per speaker Early bird and $185 after June 1 2017

Speakers are booked according to when they register. Therefore speakers that register first will be booked first. No exceptions. Just register and you’re done.

Please mark your calendars so you don't over book.

Speakers are responsible for their own travel, food and accommodations.

Each speaker is expected to help promote the event on social media and thru e-mail blasts. Posting on social media is great but is not as effective as e-mailing directly. This is to insure that each speaker is connecting with prospects they want to do business with (only you know who your target audience is so be sure to reach out accordingly). For example, if you’re having trouble getting a booking at a specific company, why not invite them to hear you speak at the conference?

We will contact speakers at least once a month with updates as we get closer to each event-generally 90 days from the date of the event(i.e. scheduled time to speak etc.)

Unlike our other events(where speakers get 30 min), speakers will get 1 hour to teach a workshop

Each speaker can make an offer at the end of the presentation

We encourage each speaker to sell by educating the audience. Attendees get turned off when they feel they’re hearing a sales pitch.

We recommend that you refrain from using a Powerpoint presentation and simply focus on content. Please note: You can use Powerpoint but we ask that you bring your own equipment and set up in the back of the room before your presentation. This way, you’re not using up your time setting up. If you would like a table at the event, you can lease one for $250 per day

We expect these spots to go very quickly so be sure to register soon. In other words, sending an e-mail telling me you’re interested is not a guarantee of a slot. Current clients will be booked first and then general public speakers (speakers I don’t rep currently). So again until you register you don’t have a spot.

Your topic should be applicable to the audience. Please be sure to submit a brief topic description, your title of expertise (i.e. business development strategist) and a picture for the flyer by Aug. 1. 2017 We will send everyone a copy of the flyer when it’s done however we will not make changes after it’s completed. So whatever you send will be what is listed. If you don’t send a pic then it will not be included in the flier. Please e-mail to awil267487@aol.com

Each speaker may invite up to 5 people to attend as your guest to ensure that everyone has a decent number of attendees for their presentation. We expect to have at least 100 attendees per day at the 5 day conference.

Speakers will receive a copy of the attendee list after the event

Everyone will be sent a link to forward to their contact list
