Call for Artists: Art on the Porches 2017

Art on the Porches (AOTP) Art on the Porches is the Strathmore neighborhood's premier event, attracting 3,000 visitors for a day filled with art, music, food, and community.
This year's festival will be held on Saturday, June 17th, 2017 on the generous porches and lawns of picturesque Ruskin Avenue. Numerous local bands will be on hand to provide music and entertainment from two stages, while tasty food and beverages will be provided by some of Syracuse's favorite restaurants and food trucks. There is something for everyone at Art on the Porches!
Well known in the Central New York arts community, AOTP is free and open to the public and generates commissions of nearly $9,000!
The Greater Strathmore Neighborhood Association, organizers of Art on the Porches, is currently seeking artists, craftspeople, and makers to participate in this year's festival, displaying and selling their artwork on the porches and lawns of Ruskin Avenue.
Date: Saturday, June 17th, 2017, 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Location: Ruskin Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13207
Art: All work must be original, designed, and executed by the artist applying. Work that has been produced from a commercial kit, patterns, plans, prefabricated forms, or other commercial means is not permitted. All work displayed must be consistent with the images submitted at the time of application.
Interested artists may apply via Eventbright or by downloading and mailing in a paper application (available on our Facebook page and at artontheporches.org). Along with their applications, artists should submit 3 examples of their artwork as digital images via email or CD. Email and CD submissions should be labeled with the artist's name, media, and contact information. Images must be representative of the work the artist plans to show and sell.

The AOTP organizing committee reserves the right to reject applications for work that does not appear to be handmade by the artist.
Fees can be submitted via Eventbright or sent to the mailing address above. Checks should be made payable to: The Greater Strathmore Neighborhood Association.
Regular Application (recieved or postmarked by May 1, 2017): $35.00
Late Application (recieved or postmarked on or after May 5, 2017): $50.00
A 10% commissions on all sales will be collected at the end of the festival.
Applications postmarked or received on or after May 5, 2017 will be accepted on a space available basis. An additional fee of $15 will be assessed, bringing the total application cost to $50.00.
Space & Equipment:
Standard booth size is 10' x 10'. Porch spaces are limited and some artists may be assigned to lawn locations. Artist preferences will be honored to the extent possible. Priority will be given to artists living the in the Greater Strathmore Neighborhood.
Artists must provide their own tables, chairs, and displays. Artists with lawn assignments must provide their own booths. Electricity is not guaranteed, but may be available at the home owner's discretion.
The event will be held rain or shine. No refunds are given for weather.
Applicants accepted into the festival will be provided with additional information including: setup and breakdown times and load-in procedures. Please make sure your email is set to accept messages from email@example.com.
Participation in any previous Art on the Porches Art on the Porches festivals does not guarentee acceptence into this year's festival.
In registering for Art on the Porches 2017, the artist agrees to comply with all conditions set forth in the prospectus and release the Greater Strathmore Neighborhood Association and it's officers, agents, and participating homeowners from any responsibility, personal liability, loss, claims, or damage arising out of, or in connection with, the Art on the Porches Show and Sale.
