The Cambridge Beta Fish Community Block Party, Permit License #: 49088

When: Friday, August 23rd 12-6pm

2 Sessions:

Sessions One: 12noon-4pm at Cambridge Rehab & Nursing Care Center -8 Dana St. Cambridge, MA 02138

Session Two: 4-6pm at Cooper Square Park Cornor of Hancock & Cenre Street, Cambridge MA

Where: At the Cambridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Care Center

at 8 Dana St. Cambridge, MA 02138.

Artist & Performer Call Details:

Call for visual and performing artists to patriciate in their upcoming block party.

There are three ways to engage:

Visual artists to host a booth to showcase and sell their works. Artist must already be licensed to vend in the City of Cambridge and must provide all needed infrastructure for their set up included tent, tables, chairs, etc. Artists retain all proceeds.

Artist to create interactive, hands-on community artworks.

Performing Artists that are family friendly and that could speak to both an elderly population as well as younger children. A sound system will be provided by DJ Why Sham.


The Engaging Interactive Projects

1) Artist invited who can support our Drum Circle with: Native American influencing art: The Drum Circle Artist are: Magali Red Sky, Adelyn Oliver Heartsong and Sheila drumming from Spirit Bear Lodge who will perform the song of Mother Earth.

2) Artist Invited to create an interactive live community art piece using Blue Man Group Props donated by Corey Phillips Associate Company Manager Blue Man Boston.One possible suggestion here is artwork using paint and the drumstick props.

3) Chalk Art or other environmentally-friendly, interactive material to correspond with the Cyphers/Rap Performance. Artist are welcome to create work that is engaging and has an urban city vibe, which will be back drop for Aaron King’s Flowttiglio/Bridgeside Cyphers such as Graffiti Style Work.

4) Art celebrating the LGBTQ +Friends-inclusive to all in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, ally, pansexual community. Submissions: age appropriate for children 0-10 years old. Cooper Square/Hancock Park will be open to the public. The goal is to be all inclusive and share love & care while celebrating pride in ones’ self.

Please note, that at this time, The Cambridge Beta Fish Project is unable to offer monetary compensation to participating artist but will gladly advertise the artists participating in all of their promotional materials for the event.
