Event Details

California Naturalist is a new program developed by the University of California Cooperative Extension to foster a committed corps of volunteer naturalists and citizen scientists trained and ready to take an active role in natural resource conservation, education, and restoration.

California Naturalist students and graduates will be able to experience Point Reyes National Seashore in ways that the casual visitors cannot. Working in areas less traveled and alongside park staff that can provide an inside look into park operations, natural resource management and public interpretation challenges. Opportunities for fun, interesting, and satisfying work await while gaining new skills and meeting new people in a beautiful natural setting.
The course will utilize a combination of science curriculum, guest lecturers, field trips and project based learning to immerse you in the natural world of the 70,000 acres of Point Reyes National Seashore. UC Extension Credit available.

Includes class materials, class text books, full catered meals, transportation around the park and lodging at the Clem Miller Environmental Education Center for the duration of the program.
