Cal State Long Beach Black Business Expo

The purpose of this expo is to build awareness to support Black owned and operated businesses in the greater Los Angeles area, in addition to fostering the relationship between the the campus and the surrounding community. The expo is meant to promote diversity and help create an atmosphere hospitable to the Black students on campus. We will be asking all vendors to be ready to speak upon owning and operating a business for those students who are interested in one day doing so. In addition, we will invite speakers to talk about the current social climate including the necessity of supporting Black owned establishments to further promote the educational aspect of the event as well as have entertainment present to help facilitate turnout. Lastly, we will having an essay contest with a prompt pertaining to the significance of Black owned businesses and will be asking for donations from the vendors that will go towards a scholarship for the winner of the contest.
