Cafe Society Swing tells the true story of the legendary New York nightclub which promoted racial equality and great music.

From 1938 to 1949 Cafe Society played host to legendary names including Billie Holiday, Lena Horne, Sarah Vaughan and Count Basie.

Written by Alex Webb and featuring the stellar vocalists Vimala Rowe and Emrys Baird front a swinging eight-piece band in this loving tribute to the first racially-mixed jazz club in the USA. A top-notch horn section of Nat Facey, Dave Bitelli, Sheila Maurice-Grey and Richard Henry is supported by rhythm masters Shaney Forbes (drums) and Miles Danso (bass). This true story of racial togetherness has acquired extra resonance in the era of Donald Trump.
