Event description

Description

Cultural organizations want to be welcoming to people with disabilities. In this workshop, participants will have an opportunity to understand the need for and how to develop a plan for accessibility. Participants will learn how to plan for programming access, marketing to people with disabilities, and creating a more welcoming environment. The session will discuss the importance of a self-assessment as the first step and provide a framework and outline for developing a comprehensive plan.

This discussion will be led by John McEwen. John has served as the Executive Director of New Jersey Theatre Alliance since 2001. Click here to learn more about John.

Cultural Accessibility Forum & Exchange (CAFE) is an initiative driven by Art-Reach to focus on cultural accessibility. These workshops gather cultural organizations, human service professionals, members of the disability community and national experts in the field to learn from one another.
