Cable Europe Special Breakfast Session: Transatlantic Discussion Series
Event Information
Description
Join us for a unique overseas overview of how the cable industry is leading the convergence race in Europe.
As part of an annual Transatlantic Discussion Series, we will gather EU & US experts to discuss cable’s drive for increased growth, its ability to adapt, the need to innovate and hear the case for further consolidation. The US market is managing challenges that would be considered familiar to European operators. Against the backdrop of the Cable Show, we will hold an engaged exchange with the high level international audience that this annual discussion series draws.
What is the European take on cord-cutting? How are European companies in the wider marketplace responding to competition from US-based over-the-top players? Is the head-to-head competition with major telco players in Europe similar to the US market? How are Europe’s responses to these challenges unique? What conclusions can be drawn that hold transatlantic relevance?
This year’s Transatlantic Discussion Series will be moderated by MLex’s Chloe MacEwen and feature a special opening welcome from Manuel Kohnstamm, President of Cable Europe & Senior Vice President and Chief Policy Officer at Liberty Global
Special guest speakers include:
- Matthias Kurth, Executive Chairman of Cable Europe Brussels
- Scott Wallsten, Senior Fellow at Technology Policy Institute Washington
- Guy Bisson – Research Director, Television at IHS Screen Digest London
