About this Event

About the Event

The CABLE CIT BASIC course is a 16-hour interactive training for Public Safety professionals.

The course will prepare participants to:

  • recognize and respond to various behavioral health conditions including trauma.
  • respond to all crisis situations within the public sector with enhanced communication and connection tools.
  • understand special communication, and de-escalation practices to defuse potentially volatile situations.
  • develop strategies for partnering with mental health mobile crisis teams who can follow up on calls to ensure that an individual is offered services. These partnerships are critical to reducing the number of law enforcement calls for service and recurring emergency room visits.

The course is structured into TWO sequential 8-hour modules from 8:00 am-4:00 pm on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 and Tuesday, May 11, 2021. The cost is $125 per person.

POST CREDITS ARE AVAILABLE

Additional specialized distance learning and in-person training modules will be available as well as monthly opportunities for building and sustaining crucial police/mental health partnerships.

This training is partially funded through the generosity of the CT Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
