Description

Surprised by Lewis: Why CS Lewis is Still Relevant Today!

You are cordially invited to join St. Thomas’ for a weekend celebrating the beloved Christian apologist, author, and scholar, C.S. Lewis. Friday evening kicks off the weekend with dessert and, “The Sound and Savor of Words: Letters by and between C.S. Lewis and Dorothy Sayers,” read by Drs. David and Crystal Downing. Saturday begins with British tea, scones, and coffee, followed by lectures from some of the foremost experts on C.S. Lewis, breakout sessions and small group discussions, a keynote address from Michael Ward, and a scholarly panel discussion. Lunch is included. The day concludes with a traditional Evensong service followed by a wine, cheese, and sherry reception. Sunday worship begins at 10am followed by the Sunday Faith Forum (free event) where we will again welcome Michael Ward as he speaks on Lewis’ perspective of pain and suffering. This weekend is a gathering of Lewis experts and scholars unlikely to be repeated. We hope you will find it spiritually enriching, thought-provoking, and entertaining.

You may register for the entire weekend or individual days.
