The R&D team at Bazaarvoice is excited to host our first ever, public technical conference and hackathon to drive innovation in the social commerce space. Born right here in Austin, Bazaarvoice is the leader in the social commerce space delivering a platform which serves over a billion impressions a day. Creating this hackathon is one way that Bazaarvoice is giving back to the Austin tech community who has helped make us so successful. We have assembled a great group of speakers and mentors to help accelerate and inspire you to build some amazing new applications. We have also partnered with a few of our customers to make their data available for you to hack on. For the first time ever, we are opening up our platform, our mobile SDK, and our Developer API to you.

This is a 3 day event that kicks off with a technical conference focused on 3 different tracks:
The goal of the conference is to inspire you to build great things.
After the conference, we will kick off the hackathon. Bazaarvoice Product Managers and a few of our Customers will lead a Pitch Fest (Shark Tank style) to seed you with ideas and to try to convince you to hack on their idea. Form a team, pick one of their ideas or any idea you are passionate about, and start hacking. There will be free wifi, power, energy drinks, beer, games, massages, music, and fun. Work hard! Play hard!
At the end of the hackathon, teams will have 3 minutes to demo their app to the group, judges and customers and 2 minutes for Q&A. Winners will be awarded in multiple categories, there will be prizes, and funstivities for all.

To help accelerate your hackathon, several companies have graciously provided access to their APIs for you to build on. (PRO TIP: you may want to review these APIs prior to the hackathon to get learned up on what's available).
A given team can only win 1 category. If a team wins multiple categories, the team with the next highest votes will win the second category, and so on. The winning team of each category will win $1000 to split among the team.
