Event description
Oak Brook Polo's 99th Season concludes with the highly prestigious Butler International Cup featuring the participation from six countries.

About this event

Oak Brook Polo ends its 99th Season with the prestigious Butler International Cup. This famous trophy was first played in 1986 between Oak Brook and HRH Prince Charles’s Wales Polo Team in front of a crowd of more than 20,000 people. The trophy was re-established in 2015 and has since hosted teams from India, Jamaica and recently the Wales Polo Team the last three seasons.

In 2020, the Butler International Cup was transformed into a 12-Goal USPA Nationally Sanctioned international tournament. This year five teams from the USA, Switzerland, Germany and Jamaica will be represented to play in this prestigious tournament with preliminary matches taking place at neighboring polo clubs (Oak Brook on Sunday, September 19th) and the Consolation and/or Championship matches being played at Oak Brook on Sunday, September 26th.

The day's event will benefit the Friends of Conservation (FOC). Founded in 1982, FOC was one of the world’s earliest leaders in the development of community ?conservation. It has been actively engaging the participation of communities in the Masai Mara area of Kenya since 1988 — planning, decision-making and implementing actions and policies relating to natural resources management and capacity building. Today this continues to be the FOC's mission — changing attitudes of local people and officials towards sustainable natural resources management. FOC projects have scientific, cultural and aesthetic importance. Not only do we work to maintain the enjoyment of national and ?international visitors, but also for the crucial economic benefit of local peoples, providing expertise, ?education and training, in the support of sustainable enterprise.
