Co-Founder and CEO, Performance Education
The “bamboo ceiling” is a crude term used to describe barriers to asian talent from reaching leadership roles. What is less talked about is the barriers at the entry point to the organisation, many are indeed struggling just getting in the door.
In this session, Owen will explore the concept of a “bamboo floor”, how the migration and education system lead to its existence. Sharing the employer’s perspective and powerful tips to bust through to career success. Owen will draw on 20 years of experience in Recruitment and Employability training and focus on what you can do right now.
If you or someone you know is a young skilled migrant or an international student looking to establish a career in Australia after graduation, then this is a session not to be missed. You may not break the bamboo ceiling straight away but it’ll give you a cracker of a start!
