Guest Speakers for Week 1...

Janice Grace started creating websites and graphics for her kids when they were young, then found web development to be a great way to earn a living while having a flexible schedule for them. She has been doing it for 15 years, and also volunteers for nonprofits. Janice will be talking about how online presence has become so important to business, and how to use it to its fullest potential.

Guest Speakers for Week 2...

Bob Johnson cultivates and manages a portfolio of business banking and preferred banking clients. Working closely with a team of experts, he helps deliver City National’s full range of financial solutions in Newport Beach.

Greg Pfeuffer has been helping business owners in a multitude of industries to discover new perspectives that help them advance toward their personal and organizational goals. Clients call on Greg and his team to serve as their outsourced CFO and rely on their experience and practical solutions. Guest Speakers for Week 3...

Dr. Brian Dozer is currently heavily involved in launching Webster University’s Master of Science in Cybersecurity program as the only on-ground program of its kind in Orange County. He also teaches Management and Organizational Behavior courses. Prior to earning his doctorate, he had a successful 20-year career in sales and sales management in television and media advertising.

Teresa McQueen is a skilled trial attorney, a published author, and a respected
member of the Orange County legal community. As a former Named Associate at
Pedersen. Teresa dedicated herself to representing individuals in all areas of employment
litigation, as well as providing general counsel services to various California companies. Teresa’s outstanding efforts have resulted in her being named a 2007, 2012, and 2013 Southern
California Super Lawyers "Rising Star" by Law & Politics and the publishers of Los Angeles Magazine and
a 2013 Top Women Attorney - Southern California Outstanding Young Women Lawyers by Law & Politics
and the publishers of Los Angeles Magazine.

Kathy Johnson, CEO of Vital Link, oversees the operations for this vital non-profit organization. Kathy brings her strengths in Strategic Planning for the organization's operation, growth, and new products and services. She applies Creative Development techniques for new programs. She also recruits and oversees volunteers. She helps oversee Fund Development and the building of Business Partnerships with Educational Institutions.

Denton Knapp served over 30 years in the United States
Army, retiring as a Colonel in 2017. He graduated from West Point, and served in multiple combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He recently led the Center for the
Army Profession and Ethic, and served at the U.S. Special
Operations Command’s Futures Directorate. His military awards
include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal with Valor, the Ranger Tab, Combat Infantry Badge and Parachutist Badge. RSVP Week 3 (10/18) to see Denton.

Martin Herrington partnered with his oldest brother Chris to build The Herrington Teddy Bear Company to a world renowned brand. As Chief Financial Officer and Managing General Partner, Martin was responsible for all aspects of the business including Sales, Production, HR, IT, and operations. Martin is currently a partner and Vice-President with TEKCORUS Consulting, Inc., a placement Agency specializing in high tech staffing. Mr. Herrington holds a very distinguished record of service in non-profit organizations in Canada and the U.S. including the Youth Motivation Task Force of Orange County. His most recent focus is helping rebuild the Anaheim Kingsmen Drum & Bugle Corps as a member of the Board of Directors.

Katie Wagner began her career as an investigative reporter, and then spent a decade as a television and radio news anchor. Katie has worked at CBS, ABC, Fox, CNN and National Public Radio. In addition, she has appeared on dozens of commercials, educational videos and websites. She has hosted her own talk show, had columns published in major newspapers and blogs, and is a popular public speaker.

Katie sits on the Advisory Board for Web Wise Kids, a non-profit focused on keeping kids safe on the internet and social media. In 2012, she was honored with the organization's 'Champion for Children Award.' She is an Entrepreneur in Residence at Chapman University's Leatherby Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Ethics, and serves as a Mentor for Chapman's MBA Program. Cynthia Hackler Flynn has grown her law firm to seven associates. The firm’s focus is employment law where their mission is to protect and defend business owners. This year Cynthia was voted Super Lawyers Rising Stars in the category of business litigation. She is active in the community and is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Beverly Hills Bar Association.

Ailene Dewar guides businesses to implement best of class HR practices. With more than 19 years of human resources, recruiting, and workers’ compensation related experience, Ailene is adept at helping businesses to succeed by strategically managing their human capital. She is a sought after speaker on the topics of employment branding, online recruiting strategies, and pain medication intervention. She has spoken at the Professionals in Human Resources (PIHRA) Conference and District meetings, Southern California Association of Healthcare Recruiters (SCAHCR), Pacific Association of Healthcare Recruiters (PCAHCR), California Self Insured Association (CSIA), Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA), Public Agencies Risk Management Association (PARMA) San Diego Chapter, Workers’ Compensation Forum of the Inland Empire and the Orange Chamber of Commerce.

Andrea Russell focus is Identity Theft Monitoring and Restoration. Andrea spent several years of her career in Human Resources identifying, attracting, and retaining top notch talent for everything from small start ups to a large Fortune 500 Global Management Consulting firm. Her technology area of expertise was in the Security Technology and Cyber Security talent acquisition arena which gives her insight into the challenges companies face to keep your information safe. She spends her free time volunteering in the community by inspiring high school girls to become confident, college-bound, career focused individuals. She also educates the public on the 5 different types of Identity Theft and volunteers at the Irvine Chamber of Commerce.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

We ask you to RSVP so we can inform the participating speakers in the event they have hand-outs and also notify you of future Seminar Series. If you were unable to register, we ask you register at the table by the entrance of the event room.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

We merely ask that you provide your correct information when you enter the event and register, such that you can be made aware of future Seminar Series.
