Business Seminar on Career Opportunities in Islamic Finance

About the Program

According to Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre (DIEDC): “Islamic Finance offers great growth opportunities in the markets of countries with predominantly Muslim population as well as among Muslim communities where Muslims are a minority. Since the global financial crisis in 2008, increasing voices in the strongholds of traditional banking (USA and Europe) have been speaking out that traditional banking holds the seeds in crisis inherent in its structure and that should the world have adopted Islamic banking, it would have been possible to avoid the crisis, or at least mitigate its severity.”

The above assessment by DIEDC quintessentially captures the essence of Islamic Finance by laying strong emphasis on ethical standards even while presenting enormous growth opportunities. Commissioned by DIEDC in collaboration with Thomas Reuters and Dinar Standard, the report by the State of Global Islamic Economy (SGIE) projects the value of assets under Islamic Finance to reach $3.24 trillion by 2020. Even as the geographically strategic regions of MENA and SE Asia are witnessing a renaissance of opportunities surrounding Islamic Finance, it’s the sheer dearth of qualified professionals to service the industry that poses both a challenge as well as an opportunity. With the momentum on absorption of qualified human resources in Islamic Finance only accelerating, it’s only befitting to address this challenge by inviting luminaries in the field to share their rich insights and perspectives on the growth opportunities in Islamic Finance.
