About this Event

Writers can benefit from using common tools from the business world to focus their creative work, plan their time, increase their impact on the marketplace (readers), and celebrate their achievements. Danielle Hanson is a former marketing executive at AT&T and a member of the Southeast Atlanta Lady MOB networking group for small business owners. You can find her advice for implementing business management tools in your creative work in Poets & Writers' September/October 2018 issue, and reprinted in Poets & Writers Publicity and Promotion Guide.

Workshop topics will include:

- Creating Mission and Vision Statements

- Writing an Elevator Pitch

- Setting SMART Goals

- Conducting Your Own Performance Reviews

- How to Network the Non-Sleezy Way

Danielle Hanson is the author of Fraying Edge of Sky (Codhill Press Poetry Prize, 2018) and Ambushing Water (Brick Road Poetry Press, 2017). Her work has appeared in over 70 journals, won the Vi Gale Award from Hubbub, was Finalist for 2018 Georgia Author of the Year Award and was nominated for several Pushcarts and Best of the Nets. She is Poetry Editor for Doubleback Books, and is on the staff of the Atlanta Review.
