Incorporation & Employment Law

Registering your business with the state comes with benefits and responsibilities. The process begins by researching the availability of your intended trade or service name, both statewide and federally. Find out how to select the right form of business entity for your business. Next, learn how to form an operating agreement with co-founders, and what’s necessary to open a business checking account. Finally, Learn the differences between independent contractors, and employees so you can start growing your business and building a team.


Intellectual Property

Scaling is impossible if you do not properly manage your companies’ intellectual property. Patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets are all forms of company property that need legal protection. Learn how to analyze the value and protectability of all potential intellectual property.


Investment Terms

The financing of companies can be complicated if it is your first time. Companies can finance operations through debt or equity. Both methods of finance have their benefits and risks. Learn how to negotiate financing terms. Learn the key terms that are often evaluated and negotiated when receiving financing from a venture capital fund. Learn how to set aside stock options for employees through employee stock options, incentive stock options, and more.
