This workshop will teach executives to re-think their corporate philanthropy so that they make the most positive impact on the community while addressing their pressing business needs. They will learn how to develop a Philanthropic Giving and Corporate Social Responsibility Portfolio that enhances their company’s brand and bottom line and boosts employee engagement and retention. Additionally, this workshop will teach non-profit professionals and government employees to develop social enterprises and strategic cross-sector partnerships that help them achieve their mission more efficiently. We will discuss case studies in various sectors and then dive into developing a strategy that is good for your business.
Until recently, the private sector gave to philanthropic efforts in order to receive a needed tax break and because it was what was expected of them. Today, in order to be labeled a “good” corporate citizen, businesses must do more than write a simple check or take part in a golf tournament. Businesses today are being asked to do more by everyone—Governments want them to provide better benefits and leave a smaller environmental footprint, Employees want to feel more engaged and be fulfilled by their work, even Consumers want to know where products come from and want more transparency. Companies must adjust to these new realities if they are to stay competitive by making strategic business decisions that address a business challenge while simultaneously helping society.
CauseIMPACTS helps clients increase their impact on issues they care about while improving their brand and bottom line by developing Corporate Social Responsibility Plans and innovative cross-sector partnerships that cause impacts. Our clients are corporations, non-profit organizations, government entities, and philanthropists who want to positively impact the world while pursuing a triple bottom line of people, planet, and profits.
About the Trainer- Jessica Nolan Daugherty
Jessica’s career is fixated on driving social change in increasingly impactful ways. She has worked with dozens of non-profit organizations worldwide, elected officials at varying levels of government, and various government agencies. Over the past twelve years, she developed programs at a Liberian refugee camp in Ghana, taught female laborers in Guatemala about their rights, organized a 100,000 person march for immigration reform, improved policies for formerly incarcerated youth, and challenged the education status quo in low performing schools in California. Jessica understands social change and knows how to maximize impact on social and environmental issues.
This cross-sector experience showed her the capacity of each of those platforms to drive change and convinced her that the private sector is the missing link that can drive the positive impact that she has been seeking. Jessica founded causeIMPACTS to break down the silos that exist between sectors, to motivate social innovation, and to cause impacts on the social and environmental issues that she is passionate about! Her goal is to bridge the gap between profit and purpose by teaching people that giving and helping can be bold business decisions that create shared value.
