Business Branding Master Class with Lucy Whittington and Tony Snow
Tue, March 21, 2017, 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM GMT
We have an AMAZING event lined up for you with 2 exceptional speakers. This event has been specifically designed for the two talks to work together.
Firstly Lucy Whittington will show you exactly how to define what it is you do (find your thing) and then Tony Snow will show you how to professionally brand and communicate it. Do not miss out. Tickets are strictly limited.
Talk 1: Why doing your Thing is the answer to everything…being a lot easier in your business By Lucy Whittington
Your Thing is the thing that you do that’s brilliant that no-one else does the way you do it. The problem with your Thing however is while it might be obvious to other people it’s sometimes very tricky to see for yourself. But when you work out your Thing you can immediately build a business around what you’re brilliant at, and get paid for it.
When you know where to look for your Thing it’s a lot easier to find. And then all you need to do is pick apart your Thing so it’s in tangible pieces that can be packaged up and sold. There’s a simple way to ‘imagine’ your Thing that shows you how to create lots of different products and services from it without looking like you have a new idea for a business every 5 minutes!
Consistency is key in any business – we need to consistently know who you are, what you do that’s brilliant, how you do it, and where we can buy it. The key to consistency is not making anything you need to do often feel like a chore – this is especially true in marketing which is why I’ll also explain why you need to find your ‘media thing’.
Here’s why you’ll find out from my interesting business talk:
What your Thing is and why you want to build your business doing it (as opposed to simply doing ‘some’ thing to make money)
• The 2 ways to find your Thing (if you’re still looking for it)
• What it feels like when you’re doing your Thing (so you know when you’ve found it)
• How to expand your Thing so you can package it up and sell it
• All the different ways you can get paid for doing your Thing
• Why you need to work out your media thing to make your Marketing easier
• How standing still will make the biggest difference to your sales results
Straightforward writer, energetic speaker, Thing finder, million-miles-an-hour marketer, mum, chum, avid reader and self-confessed social media faffer.
My 'Thing' is a head full of useful things to help you with your business... mostly marketing, but strategy and sales things, too. Over-qualified with an MBA, and (more helpfully) 2 decades plus of practical marketing and business experience, I've launched things, developed things, finished things, grown things and (most importantly) sold things.
To start with, I'll help you see the 'Thing' you do that's brilliant, and that no-one else does quite how you do it. Then I'll help you package that up and sell it so your business is brilliantly different. We'll explain your process or philosophy about what you do and how you do it, and that becomes your message.
I'm that person who sees what you don't see in you and your business, can say what you want to say even when you can't find the words, and can package what you didn't think was possible to sell. My Thing is brilliant business things.
Talk 2: Create your brand. Love it to bits. Build with passion by Tony Snow
Love your brand. Simples. And if you really love it, you’ll be passionate about it. And nothing builds a brand better than passion. Because passion creates belief and belief is a driving force every business needs.
If you want your customers to love your brand (and you should) then you have to love your brand too.
The majority (if not all) of business owners start a business around something they love. It may be a job you’ve enjoyed doing for years for someone else and now you want to go alone and build your own business. Maybe you’ve found another passion and you want to create a business around that. Or maybe you’ve had this great hobby that has brought you joy for many years and now you want to make a living from it.
So why would you then not give it the love to really create an exciting brand that will last the test of time. And the test of the brutal world of over crowded markets?
Just doesn’t make sense.
Neither does thinking a website and a logo constitutes a brand. I have come across this so, so many times. This is short sighted, ignorant thinking.
Which is one of the reasons businesses either go out of business quickly (30% crash and burn in the first 12 months) or struggle for so long. And ultimately give up on something they love.
This statistic saddens me because every single business owner deserves the opportunity to spend their life doing something they love.
The buck doesn’t just stop with you, it starts with you. With you loving what you do. And then creating a brand that you absolutely adore.
So, how can I help you?
I’ll show you some ways to create a brand that you will love. And just as importantly, a brand that your customers will love too.
• How Loyalty from your customers is created through your brand Values.
• Why being Open about yourself and your brand at all times attracts and keeps customers.
• Why your Visual identity should be about you and not your customers.
• That the most Engaging of brands creates raving fans
