Business Book Review - Clockwork - Design Your Business To Run Itself

About this Event

Want more success? Then Keep Learning!!!

Studies have repeatedly shown that the most successful business owners are those who are constantly learning new ideas. The good news is there are lots of great business books out there - the challenge for most of us is finding the time to actually read them.

That's where Aspire's Business Book Reviews come in. This is a regular event where you will be able to pick up the key ideas and themes from a great business book...and get some ideas on how to start applying those to your business right away.

And the best part? You don't even need to read the book! We'll cover the key points, have a great group discussion and get you on your way. You'll walk out with a several page summary, some new knowledge and introductions to like minded business owners and professionals who also want to learn and be successful!

It's kind of early - but we'll have coffee and breakfast for you and you'll be on your way, smarter, happier and better looking than you were before (well at least smarter and happier). We guarantee it!

This Month's Book - Clockwork

Do you own your business? Or does your business own you? Far too many business owners (and their teams) fall into the latter category - they have a solid business, but it's all consuming and with growth and other challenges, it's only getting worse.

It doesn't have to be that way. Author Mike Michalowicz has been building and running businesses for a long time now and he's written 5 books to help business owners create better businesses. His latest, Clockwork, addresses the signficant challenge of getting a business to run, successfully, without killing the business owner (or the team).

Design Your Business to Run Itself

As you might imagine, getting your business to run like Clockwork (mostly without you) isn't a quick fix, but it can be done... and it can be done for any business if you're willing able to make some critical shifts to your mind-set and to your daily operations. This book isn't about shortcuts, or finding more hours in the day - the goal is organizational efficiency - ultimately getting your business to run on automatic so that you can make more and work less (for real).

It may sound too good to be true - and realistically not every business owner will be able to pull all of these ideas off. Change is hard. However, if you can even implement a couple of these big ideas, you will start seeing relief and things will become much easier. Considering that the alternative is to continue to keep working longer and longer hours for no additional reward - it's a no-brainer to at least give these ideas a shot.

This is a fantastic book and well worth your time to read and it's even better to discuss it with other business owners...and that's what Business Book Reviews are all about!

Here are a few comments from previous Business Book Reviews:

"If you haven't attended a book review by the Aspire folks then you're missing out. Want inspiration? Attend. Want new connections to excellent people? Attend. Want new thoughts or new ways of thinking? Attend."

"I thought this was extremely valuable. It was very inspirational and my head is already spinning with ideas and things I want to implement."

"This really added a dynamic to the way I would have been able to think about and comprehend the material on my own."

Clockwork is a practical book - we'll be talking about tactical things you can put to use right away. You may not agree with everything - it may challenge you on how you look at business, but it will also expand your thinking. There are a lot of ideas here and I guarantee you will learn some great stuff! You should read Clockwork... but you'll get even more out of it by joining this the Business Book Review discussion (and YOU DON"T NEED TO READ THE BOOK to get a lot out of the discussion).

Who Should Attend?

Business leaders and professionals who have a need to keep learning, but don't have the time nor the inclination to read...or just realize they will get even more out of the discussion of the material than just reading it (i.e. a lot of smart people we know)!

How does it work?

We'll keep it simple - login at 9:00, grab some breakfast (up to you - something tasty - bagel, pastry, kolache...) and some coffee and we'll get rolling. You'll have a few minutes to meet the other attendees and then we'll dive into the review and discussion of the book. About 2/3's of the time will be spent covering the key ideas and the other 1/3 will be more of a group discussion.

We're limiting the group size to 25 or so, small enough so everyone can participate, but large enough to have a lively exchange with lots of different viewpoints and ideas.

We'll close on time and get you on with your day, secure in the knowledge that you know now more...and will be more successful.

Complete Guarantee

If for any reason you don't feel like you learned at least a couple of useful new ideas, then you will get a complete and cheerful refund...and get to keep your summary!
