Event description

Description

Planning is the lifeblood of business. Plans range from marketing plans, to strategic plans, to plans for the next trade show. One kind of plan is foundational to all business--the spending plan. You may be more familiar with it by the name "budget."

This program shows you why I call that a four letter word. It sets up the wrong mind set and makes businesses avoid it rather than embrace it.

We will address topics such as

  • Basic planning for your start-up

  • Orgainizing business finance

  • Evaluating spending and income

  • Best practices to maximize profit

  • What role profit plays in business success

This is one of a series of Business Basics workshops designed to take the entrepreneur through the intricacies of business in a hands on way. The series is repeating so that interested individuals can join the cycle of workshops at any point and deal with the issues that face them in their journey to business success (or failure--there are no guarantees).

The presenter is Michael Wright. Mr Wright was an insurance auditor specializing in small businesses since the 1970s. He has been in private practice as an accountant and tax preparer since 1992. With a focus on artisan and professional businesses, he has helped many start ups grow and prosper.

Doors open at 1:30 pm and the program will begin about 15 minutes later. Please feel free to bring food and beverages.
