Business Basics: Financial Basics
Tue, May 9, 2017, 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM CDT
Financial statements are essential tools to help you make key decisions for your business, but many new entrepreneurs are unfamiliar with how to interpret and use them. This workshop provides an introduction to the three basic financial statements: Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flows. We will discuss the terminology, methods of reporting and most importantly the uses for these statements. In addition, the workshop provides an introduction to sales and use tax, payroll taxes and an overview of the income tax impact of your business entity choices. Ed Jaekel, CPA at JRMCPAs is the instructor.
The Financial Basics class is part of the Small Business Development Center’s “Business Basics” series. The series also consists of “First Steps for Starting Your Business,” “Website Basics,” “Business Model Canvas,” “Planning Basics,” and “Marketing Basics.” Participants are welcome to attend the individual classes or can register for the entire series.
