Small Business Growth and Planning Series (Small Business GPS)

 Taxes and Legal Sessions 1 and 2, and Strategic Planning

 Cost: $60 for 3 classes (Early Registration), $70 for 3 classes (General Registration)

1) Taxes and Legal - Session 1 - October 8, 2013
Time: 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Description: specific information on business entities, such as LLC’s; S and C Corps. How to calculate profit, expenses, owner draw and tax reporting. Information on state licensing such, as sales tax, registering with the state, etc. Includes question and answer session.

2) Taxes and Legal - Session 2 - October 15, 2013
Time: 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Continuation of first session


3) Strategic Planning - October 22, 2013

 Time: 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Description: creating a blue print for the business; includes identifying values; creating a mission and vision statement; goal setting and implementation.


Registration Information for theSmall Business Growth and Planning Series (Small Business GPS)

Three clusters of three classes each will be offered quarterly. These three clusters are:

Business Basics
o Strategic Planning
o Taxes and Legal - Session 1
o Taxes and Legal - Session 2


Marketing Strategies
o Marketing 101
o Internet Marketing
o Branding & Personal Selling

Financial Awareness
o Basic Bookkeeping
o Financial Analysis 101
o Financing Options

Wrap Up and Implementation

People can pick and choose any or all of the clusters. For example, someone may have a marketing background, so they may choose to only take the Business Basics and Financial Awareness Clusters.

Note: people can pick and choose only clusters, not classes. Registrants need to take all three classes in a cluster. A cluster costs $60 and consists of 3 classes.

Small Business GPS is designed to provide participants the information and resources to write a business plan. Someone taking all three clusters and the final Wrap Up and Implementation class will be able to write a business plan.

 

Registration is non-refundable.


Free parking for GROW classes is available in the YWCA lot, located on corner of Weston St SE and South Division. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. Enter the lot through the yellow gate on Weston St SE and ring the buzzer to for entry. On your way out of the building, you will need to note the parking code on the back door, which is required to exit the lot.
