Burning Plan: Frozen Pints
Tuesday, May 21, 2013 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM (PDT)
We have our monthly business plan review. In this program, an entrepreneur or team is given the chance to present their business plan entirely. Then, they will tell you what they don't know about what they are trying to do. The audience is there to help them brainstorm and think through the gaps in the plan.
This month's Presenter is Frozen Pints. Craft Beer Ice Cream made here in Atlanta with amazing quality ingredients. http://www.frozenpints.com/
About Frozen Pints
Frozen Pints has created a new category at retail: alcoholic ice cream. The combination has a growing presence at restaurants, at scoop shops, and in home recipes, but no-one has captured the space in the retail market.
The company provides products of high quality, with unique flavors, actual alcohol content, and a strong, authentic brand message – all traits which have led to a growing consumer following. Additionally, mastering and marrying both alcohol regulation and frozen product logistics has created a steep barrier for potential large competitors.
Frozen Pints launched at retail in July, 2012, with a product focused around craft beer. This launch represents the first of three phases – one each for beer, liquor and wine. Frozen Pints is currently sold in 65 stores in the Atlanta area, including select Whole Foods and Total Wine outlets, and the company has revenue of $63K through the first 7 months.
The line currently has five year-round flavors, two seasonal flavors, and more in development – all based on different styles of craft beer. The finished product contains alcohol, so all standard regulations apply – consumers must be 21 to purchase.
