DESCRIPTION

America's obsession with burgers has grown larger than ever. They've in fact become universally appealing and consistently so pleasing that virtually every country has joined in on the burger revolution.

Here in New York City, as the battle wages on for the best red meat concoction, many have staked their claim for burger notoriety. From the pillowy-like brilliance and crispy edges of a Shake Shack Burger, the uber-expensive caramelized onion delight at Minetta Tavern, or even the incredible pretzle-bunned Emmy Burger with extra Emmy sauce, it's hard decide who takes the cake (or should we say the burger). But there's one thing that they all have in common- they're all unique and stand apart from the others, yet use very similar ingredients.

So what makes a good burger? Is it the meat? The melty cheese? Is it using the grill verse the frying pan? Perhaps it's toppings? Or could it just be a killer creative sauce?

In Burger 101, we explore how to upgrade your traditional burger to an "outside of the box" feast between two pieces of bread and give you the tools be your very own burger master!

As we break into teams, using fun and unique ingredietns, one person will be crowned "Burger King" (we had to). Will it be you?
