Description

Tour The Burden Iron Works Museum with Tech Valley Center of Gravity
Proceeds benefit the TVCoG Woodshop

Did you know that Tech Valley was the Silicon Valley of the last century? Did you know the Ferris wheel was invented in Troy? It was modeled after the largest water wheel in history – also in Troy -- which was used to power the Burden Iron Works, a factory that helped the North win the Civil War! Located in the former office of one of the most important firms in the history of iron and steel, the Burden Iron Works Museum educates visitors about the history of iron working in South Troy, and the transformation of the region around the confluence of the Hudson and the Mohawk Rivers into a key player in the Industrial Revolution.

Join us for for an afternoon of fun and fundraising and learn more about our fascinating local history. Proceeds of this event support the Tech Valley Center of Gravity woodshop. This tour is open to non-members, too!
