In recent years, bullying in our schools has become a nationally recognized issue and concern in the United States. Many educational programs and initiatives are in place in middle and high schools with special training provided to faculty to recognize the symptoms and ways to intervene when bullying is found. What has not yet become mainstream, however, is the awareness of the ongoing effects of bullying on adult survivors. These effects include the misplaced blaming of the victim and the misunderstanding of the core issues behind the bullying from the side of the bully as well as the choice of victims.
Joan E, a professional psychotherapist practicing in Europe, comes with over 20 years of specialized experience in the field of identifying, processing and healing the aftermath in adult victims of childhood bullying.
