Building Your Emotional Intelligence, My Father & I - Paul Scates
Tue, April 18, 2017, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM BST
Freckles is so excited to have secured Paul Scates and his Father to join us for our fourth talk in the Emotional Wellbeing Series. Paul is an International Speaker, Motivational Coach, Wellbeing Practitioner, Education Trainer and Senior Peer Specialist, he works closely with initiatives such as Heads Together and frequently appears on both TV and radio, including Good Morning and The Jeremy Vine Show.
Paul was diagnosed as bi-polar 6 years ago, a result he says of the abuse he suffered in his childhood.
The evening will comprise of a talk with Paul and his Father followed by a Q & A session. They will talk us through their personal journey, highlighting the importance of the role in which a parent, teacher or carer play within a young person’s wellbeing. They will share with us their knowledge on how we can best support the wellbeing of both our children and ourselves.
The evening aims to be insightful and informative, equipping us with many skills and techniques we can use to enable children to manage and cope with emotions such as anxiety and depression. They will also talk about local services and charities that are available to support us if needed.
Paul's story is truly inspirational and it is incredible to hear from both him and his father in the same evening. They are both running the London Marathon on Sunday 23 April for Heads Together (the iniative headed up by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry), and the charity of the year for the marathon. This year it is a mental health marathon!
At Freckles we are passionate about emotional wellbeing and mental health and the more we talk about the better. We would love to see you there!
Finally - 10% of all proceeds will go to the Heads Together campaign. Tea, coffee and nibbles will be provided.
