We're swapping out the coffee for cocktails! Join Skyword Boston as we host the Creative Mornings community for a night of creativity reflection. We’ll kick off the evening with snacks, refreshments and the opportunity to connect with other members of the community. Each attendee will then choose between one of three peer-led, resourceful workshops. We'll wrap the evening with key insights so participants can walk away with new actionable strategies to start using immediately!

Heads up - workshop registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis upon arrival!

1. Capture Your Audience's Attention: Frameworks to Make Your Online Communication More Persuasive

You're a creative. Your number one responsibility to this world is to do creative work and give us more of your gift. Your number two responsibility? Spread the word about what you can do.

We all need to write emails and social media posts that connect us with collaborators or get people to our next event. Your ability to communicate effectively in a world full of information and content overload can make the difference between creative career success and failure. This workshop will have you thinking like a modern marketer or copywriter - someone who knows how to make an impact through the written word and communicate in a way that's powerful and persuasive - and put you in a position to talk about your work in a more compelling way.

2. LEGO of Your Creative Limits

The Lego® Serious Play® thinking, communication and problem solving technique unlocks the full potential of a team quickly, effectively, and deeply. LEGO bricks are used as a medium to build and to express complex ideas through storytelling and metaphors; they create a level playing field and act as a mediator between participants, allowing people to overcome hierarchies and create a dynamic and inclusive culture of shared understanding and shared values.

About Dieter Reuther

As a Transformation Catalyst at Team Dynamics Boston, Dieter helps organizations balance creative chaos with structure to bring the best out of teams and individuals, break down barriers, cultivate teams, and solve complex problems. He is a certified LEGO® Serious Play® facilitator and uses this methodology to tap into creative energies, modes of thought and ways of seeing that many adults have forgotten they even possessed.

Dieter holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Technical University, Munich, Germany, and an MBA from George Fox University, Portland, OR. Follow Dieter on Twitter and Instagram!

3. From Freelancer to Business Owner: The Building Blocks of Business Growth in 2018

Ever find yourself loving what you create for clients, but sapped of all the energy to put any work into growing your own business? Do you sometimes wish you could set aside your client work for a week so you could dive deep into your own branding and business planning? The start of a new year is an ideal time to commit to taking your business seriously and achieving #AllTheSuccess in the next twelve months. But you can't brainstorm in January. Oh, no. The planning needs to happen right now.

If you want to be taken more seriously and increase your income potential, this workshop will walk you through the steps necessary to make a business out of your creative endeavors. In this workshop we'll focus on everything from choosing a business entity, prepping for taxes, developing a marketing plan, and positioning yourself as an industry expert. You'll walk away with concrete baby steps you can take to put everything you've learned into practice immediately and in the year to come.
