Event description

Description

Join Love & Protect for an evening with activist CeCe McDonald. We'll watch the film "Free CeCe," which chronicles the story of McDonald, a Black trans woman who served over a year in a men’s prison for defending her friends and herself from a racist, homophobic, and transphobic attack. The event will include a conversation post-screening between CeCe McDonald and LaSaia Wade (Chicago BTGNC Collective/Brave Space Alliance).

This screening is the first event in Love & Protect’s Building Towards Freedom series. This series seeks to raise awareness around the criminalization of survival and the need for racial and gender justice movements to make their campaigns and spaces more inclusive to trans & gender non-conforming people.

This event is free and open to the public.
Food will be provided. Wheelchair accessible.

For more accessibility and child care needs, please email: loveandprotect@gmail.com.

NOTE: WE WILL START AT 6PM ON THE DOT
