Building the Millenial-Minded Commercial Organization

The Commercial organizations' primary purpose is to deliver against revenue targets, which under the pressure of today's coin-operated and compliance-driven culture, has always created the risk of burn-out and fatigue. The difference today is that compensation isn't enough for millennials, who want to be developed. If commercial organizations don't adapt their employee value proposition to attract and support a millennial mindset, they risk churning employees and bring in to play punishing economics associated with building a sustainable revenue-generating organization.

We believe salespeople learn best by doing, so we observe them in action, assess their skills against a standard and provide and activate the coaching of frontline managers by showing them where and how to coach. Building a healthy commercial organization is required for any sales-focused company to succeed, but there is often a lack of strategic sales expertise and misunderstanding around what today's seller wants.


About our Speakers

Jonathan Palay - Co-Founder & VP, Sales - CommercialTribe

An “intra-preneur” first, Jonathan was part of the founding team that built Corporate Executive Board’s Mid-Market business unit, growing it from 0-$50M business unit in 4 years. Jonathan received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and MBA at Michigan’s Ross School of Business, where he focused on Entrepreneurship. As a sales leader, Jonathan believes that a development and coaching culture is critical for building a sustainable, high-performing sales organization.


Sarah McDonald - VP, Customer Solutions - CommercialTribe

Sarah has more than 16 years of experience in sales, sales strategy, solutioning, and professional services at companies such as AMResearch, CEB, Monster, and TeleTech. Most notably, Sarah has provided strategic guidance to world-class, innovative sales organizations that are undergoing a sales transformation including Yahoo, Facebook and Australia’s Fairfax Media. Sarah is focused on developing the product services and solutions to support CommercialTribe users in their efforts to develop both sellers and managers.
