BUILDING THE DREAM?

APPROACHING OUR CHURCH BUILDINGS AS BLESSINGS NOT BURDENS

How can we have good conversations and decision-making in our church communities so that our buildings can be blessings more than burdens, assets rather than liabilities,in the mission of the local church? What questions do we need to be asking? How can we find partners and resources to help? How can we work towards a more sustainable future?

The Centre for the Study of Christianity and Culture has been researching the use of church buildings for a number of years and is now working with individual parish churches on making better use of their buildings, including a number in the diocese of York.

This event is open to all churches in the diocese who want to make better use of their buildings. Every place has its own unique features so the day will include principles and case studies, some of which will illustrate when things haven’t worked as planned or hoped!
