Description

The Cambridge Business Analysis Community is delighted to welcome guest speakers Anna Darvas and Justin McCarron for our first event of 2018 on Building Successful Stakeholder Relationships, for what promises to be an interactive, fun and thought provoking session on this key BA 'super power'.

No doubt you are trying really hard to be a great team member and make a valuable contribution, but it is often not just what you say but how you say it that makes you effective. In this session Anna and Justin will challenge some of the assumptions we can all make about other people in the workplace and explore how to have more effective conversations with others.

We will look at how to:

  • create trust and rapport quickly through listening and reflecting

  • deal with negativity, our own and our stakeholders

  • understand different stakeholders‘ responses to change and strategies to deal with resistance

Anna Darvas has worked for the past 20 years as a coach and facilitator in both the public and private sector. Before that she worked as an actress and violinist in theatre and on TV as well as recording many documentary voice overs. She has extensive experience in presentation skills coaching, feedback coaching, how to tackle difficult conversations and, with her experience as an actress and musician, connecting what you say with how you say it – the words, the body language and the tone of voice. She is skilled at flexing people’s delivery style and offering participants an opportunity to ‘try something new’ in a safe environment. She works through facilitating feedback from herself, the individual and the participant group. In the last year, Anna’s clients have included: BBC; KPMG; London Stock Exchange; Accenture; Coca Cola; EDF and 02.

Justin McCarron works with people in business to help them become more resilient. Small changes in beliefs and behaviour have a big impact on our work environment. We find ourselves less stressed, better motivated and collaborating more efficiently with colleagues.

"Everyday Resilience" is a suite of practices that Justin has developed from the wisdom of thinkers, philosophers and writers, combined with insights from the most recent research in the fields of psychology and neuroscience.

This session has been arranged by Aspire Business Analysis (founded by Alex Papworth and Adam Sedgwick). We help individuals and organisations increase their return on investment from their business analysts by improving their capability fast. One of the ways we do this is by developing their BA 'super powers' (skills that are recognised as critical for the best business analysts). One of these is the ability to create successful stakeholder relationships.

So please join us (we welcome new people as well as known faces!) and come and find out more. There will also be time to network at the start and at the end of the session. We look forward to seeing you then!
