Event description
We will explore the work of Pediatrician Magda Gerber, who is the founder of the Respectful Parenting community in the U.S.

About this Event

"Respect when I come home" is a familiar refrain for those of us who are Rolling Stones or Otis Redding fans. In our time together, we will explore the work of Pediatrician Magda Gerber, who is the founder of the Respectful Parenting community in the United States. How does respecting children give the freedom to be themselves within firm and clear boundaries? We will apply these theories to real-time parenting challenges such as sleep, independence, separation and conflict resolution. We will also share how self-care is the foundation of Respectful Parenting.

Janet Harris is currently the Director of the Early Childhood and Family Engagement Initiative of the Jewish Community Federation. She has worked in the field of Early Childhood Jewish Education for over 30 years. During that time, Janet has worked for a central agency of Jewish Education in the East Bay, has founded both an Orthodox and Conservative Jewish preschool, and has been a Jewish community preschool director for many years.

***Childcare is for children 2 years and older. $10 per child, paid at the event. RSVP is required through Eventbrite***
