Event description
‘OHANA NIGHT:Building Resilience in Kohala Join us for FREE dinner and a movie! Free childcare provided for keiki 10 and under.

About this Event

This community event is an opportunity to view the Carmel International Film Festival Award winning movie from KPJR Films called Resilience: The Biology of Stress and Science of Hope (click to view trailer). This will be an evening to better understand the effects of toxic stress on the body.

We will provide information on how to recognize and address toxic stress and connect families with organizations who offer support and resources including our friends at Hamakua Kohala Health, local police, Same Canoe Local Food Challenge (SNAP matching program), and Piha me ka Pono "A community has everything it needs" .

The film will be shown in the Kohala Middle School cafeteria, and dinner will be prepared by our Kohala High School Culinary Students.

We thank you in advance for registering early for this event!

We'll see you there!
