Description

The National Churches Trust’s ‘Building Resilience’ Conference on Wednesday 27 June 2018 is a major event for anyone who loves, looks after or supports church buildings.

Bill Bryson, writer, broadcaster and Vice-President of the National Churches Trust, will open the conference, which will be held at the Emmanuel Centre in central London.

The Rt Hon Dame Caroline Spelman MP, Member of Parliament for the Meriden Constinuency and Second Church Estates Commissioner, will give a keynote speech.

The ‘Building Resilience’ Conference is ideal for anyone who looks after a local church, chapel or meeting house and for people who work in the faith, heritage or community sectors.

Find out how to attract visitors to your place of worship, unlock the potential of your church as a heritage asset, look after your church cost effectively and find out about key funding streams.

Building Resilience will feature:

  • Participants from the government, media, tourism, heritage, insurance and funding sectors; speakers include award winning broadcaster, Dr Jonathan Foyle; John Goodall, Architectural Editor, "Country Life"; and Luke March, Chairman of the National Churches Trust (full Programme tbc).

  • The launch of the National Church's Trust new strategy for 2019-2024;

  • Information on funding and new opportunities for places of worship;

  • 'Ask the Expert' Q&As featuring specialists, experts and church representatives who have successfully taken part in projects and pilots who will share their experience.

The event is taking place at the Emmanuel Centre, a listed place of worship centrally located in Westminster. Doors open at 9am for a 9.30am start – 4.30pm finish.

Take advantage of our Early Bird offer and book your place by 30 April 2018. Early Bird ticket holders will be entered into a prize draw to win one of five signed copies of a best-selling Bill Bryson book.

This event will raise funds for our charitable work supporting churches throughout the UK.
