Now that you have built your community, turn those followers and fans into action for your nonprofit. We will look at the why and how people get motivated to take action and how you can use similar tools to tackle your nonprofit’s needs.
Christopher Whitlatch directs the social media and online initiatives at The Pittsburgh Foundation. In this role, he tells the stories of how the Foundation’s donors and grantees are building a better community. Christopher also teaches social media through workshops and webinars to area nonprofits as part of the PittsburghGives initiative. In June of 2010, the Foundation launched Pittsburgh on Video, a community video hub. Christopher serves as the first video curator of the site which has grown to over 5,500 videos submitted by the Pittsburgh community. Christopher also produces Unsung, an on-line nonprofit news show that was recently recognized by the Council on Foundations with a Wilmer Shields Rich Silver Award for innovative communications.
Before joining The Pittsburgh Foundation, Christopher owned a digital marketing consulting company called UniversalWit. An avid storyteller, he organizes storytelling events both live and digital. Christopher has a degree in journalism from New York University.
