Building Recovery Supports for Housing Providers
Adult Care Facility Operators encounter many different residents and situations within their homes, including residents with mental illness, substance use disorders or both. This training will provide information on the dynamics of a recovery-oriented ACF and highlight how a recovery focus can benefit ACF operations.
Topics will include:
- understanding mental illness and substance use disorders
- how to create a recovery-oriented environment
- how to address and avert crisis situations, and
- practical applications of how to adopt the Creating a culture of Recovery and personal health for individuals will increase quality of life, reduced episodes of decompensation and improve overall functioning.
Participants will have opportunity to role play, interact with other participants and learn about self-care.
Target Audience: Adult Care Facility Operators and Owners, MH and AoD Housing Providers
Continuing Education Units (CEUs): 6 hours for SW, Counselors, RN and LPN
Adult Care Facility Operators will receive 6 hours of mental health training that can apply toward the training requirement from Licensure and Certification.
Certificates will ONLY be given to attendees who attend the WHOLE training (6 hours of mental health training; 6 hours CEU for SW, Counselors, RN and LPN). No adjusted/partial continuing education credit hours will be given for this training.

Parking: Please park in the Kwik Park Garage (off of Ontario and Adams). The parking cards will be validated if you park in the Kwik Park Garage.
Note: There is a bank of elevators right as you enter the building from the parking garage or stairs that will take you to the 4th floor enter through the double glass doors to get into the building. Participants can enter the building on the 4th floor and take elevators up to the 8th floor.
